Another day at the zoo

 This boy loves the zoo!!!  Alyssa was dancing at TriDAC and Matthew was kayaking at camp so Ethan and I spent the day at the zoo.  It was hot, I think almost 100 degrees that day, so I didn’t think the animals would be very active, but they were.  All of them were up and at ‘em and fun to watch.

We really got a treat with the koalas.  They are always sleeping when we go to see them, but this time, not only were they awake,  they were moving around!  They came running in from the back and climbed up and down the tree, shaking and scratching for about 10 minutes before they settled down into their little “nest.” 

  

  Apparently, the turkey escaped from the farm.  Ethan thought he could pet it!

Oops!  Ethan roasted marshmallows the night before and got some in his hair and then fell asleep before we could wash it.  It took me a while to figure out why the birds wouldn’t leave his hair alone.

It was fun to watch the bears wrestle!

The jellyfish have always been one of Ethan’s favorites!

The new kangaroo exhibit was open.  You walk on a path right through their habitat.  Very cool!
