Blythefest and the rest of our Saturday

Saturday was a jam packed, fun day for us. It started out with Matthew needing to be at the soccer fields at 8:15 am for an 8:30 game (he won!) Alyssa had to be at the Blythefest at 9:00 to sing with her schools chorus. Dave and Matthew met us at the festival after the game and the kids had fun walking around, seeing friends and bouncing and sliding. After the festival Matthew had a birthday party to go to while Alyssa, Ethan and Mommy did some shopping. At 5:00 we had to be back at the soccer fields for Alyssa's game (she lost, but boy did they play hard!) As soon as the soccer game was over we were off to the zoo for Boo at the Zoo. By the time we got home, around 10:00 Saturday night, we were all exhausted!!!!
Sunday morning came way to quickly as we had to get up and ready for early service at church. Tomorrow is Monday and it's going to be tough to get these kids out of bed and to school on time!

Then it was time to run home to choose a costume for the night. We took out the costume bucket and the kids "mixed it up" a bit.

BOO AT THE ZOO

Every year we say we're going to go and every year after Halloween we realize we've missed it again! Not this year. Thanks to our friends John, Brooke, Desiree and Desmond, we had a great time at Boo at the Zoo! John called on Saturday afternoon and asked if we wanted to go with them. We had a crazy day with so many things packed in, but we really didn't want to miss it, so of course we said yes! We spent part of the afternoon scrambling to come up with costumes and as soon as Alyssa's soccer game was over we hit the zoo.
It was packed!! The lines were incredibly long. Fortunately John and Brooke are really smart people and they thought ahead. They picked up the tickets earlier in the day so we were able to walk past the lines to a back entrance and walk right in with NO waiting!!! We felt like VIP's. The zoo did a great job putting on the event and the kids all had a great time!!
Dancing, trick or treating, marshmallow roasting, riding the carousel and watching a 3-D movie.

Ethan spends lots of time outside going lizard hunting. He's usually lucky enough to find at least one. I'm not too sure the lizard feels too lucky to be found.

Look, my Madarine Oranges are almost ready. This is my first year with the tree. There were hundreds of blossoms in the spring followed by about 30 small fruit. One by one they fell off until we were left with just 3. All 3 lasted through the summer and are getting closer and closer to being ready. I hope they will taste as good as they look.
Can't wait to see how many it will produce next year - hopefully a few more!

THE CAST IS OFF!

At 5:00 on Wednesday morning Ethan and mommy were headed to the hospital to have his pins and cast removed. We had to be there by 5:30 and his surgery was scheduled for 7:30. I was hoping he would sleep, but he had different plans. He was wide awake. Fortunately they had a really cool playroom for him to play in.

He called the clothes they gave him "funny hospital clothes." He thought it was great when another little boy came in to play with the same "funny hospital clothes."

One happy boy. Surgery is over. Cast and pins are gone!

Souvenir's

Today we were able to take the ace bandage off and remove the dressing from his arm.
He's not quite sure what to think.
