Fun on Lake Murray!

Last weekend we were fortunate enough to be invited back out on Lake Murray with Lou and Margaret. We had a BLAST!! Everyone had fun swimming, relaxing and tubing. We anchored near Bomb Island which happens to be a refuge for Purple Martins. These birds take off from the island at the same time in the morning and return all together at sunset. It was so neat to watch them come home for the evening!
The sunset was amazing.... a perfect way to end the day!

Tri-District Arts Festival

 

Alyssa spent the last three weeks  dancing at Tri-DAC, and she loved it.  The days were long (I dropped her off at 8:15 and picked her up at 4:00) and filled with lots of learning and hard work, but she never complained and always looked forward to the next day.
Saturday they held a performance that was just amazing.  Their hard work was very apparent.   It was so much fun to watch Alyssa up on the stage.  She really was a natural!!

Another fun summer week gone by.  This summer is slipping fast, but we're cherishing every day!

Last Sunday we were invited out to Pine Island (again!!  Thank you Lou and Margaret!)  with lots of friends.   It was a fun and relaxing day.  The kids loved the time swimming and tubing!!

This was Alyssa's last week of TriDAC dance so she wasn't with us during the day.  One evening she had her friend, Jessica, come over to swim.  They had so much fun being goofy!! 

 With temperatures in the 90's all week, lots of afternoon pool parties were in order.  We were never alone.  There were lots of friends all week, just the way we like it!!!

On Thursday night we went to La Fiesta in Camden to listen to KT and friends.  Just a few songs in it started to storm.   LOTS of rain, LOTS of thunder and LOTS of lightning.  Oh, and did I mention that we were outside.  We had a roof (that leaked) but that was it.  It was still a lot of fun though because we were with lots of fun friends!

This week was also a really fun Sports Camp week at a church not too far from us.

Huntington Beach!

 

This past weekend we decided it was time to get to the beach.   We went with our good friends, the McCoy's, and Alyssa brought her friend Jessica. 

The day couldn't have been any better.  The weather was perfect and the kids were happy all day!

I think Dave beat everyone on the number of hours riding the waves.  He spent about 6 hours out there!!!!
