An afternoon in the Corn Maze with friends

This afternoon we went to Lexington, S.C. to a corn maze at Clinton Sease farm. Trish, Kali, Lexy, and Stephanie came with us, and Monique, Alijah, and Courtney met us there. We had a blast!!! There were a few moments of worry (not sure we would find our way out before dinner!) mixed with lots of laughter throughout the afternoon.

This is the last time we saw Lexy until we made it out. I think she realized we were all directionally challenged and she was better off on her own.

This is the amazing sunset we saw over the lake coming into our neighborhood. What a beautiful way to end a fun filled day!

South Carolina State Fair

On Friday, I won the "best mom" of the year award from Matthew. However, I simultaneously won the "not so best" mom of the year award from Alyssa. It's S.C. state fair time and I told Matthew I would take him out of school early on Friday so he could go to the fair and ride and ride and ride the rides before the rest of the kids got out of school. Originally, I planned on doing the same for Alyssa, but she had the flu in September and missed 4 days of school so I decided it wasn't wise to pull her out and have her miss school for the fair. Matthew had his friend, Ian come with him and we went with Martha and Hunter.

Dave went and picked Alyssa up as soon as she got out of school and met us there along with her friend, Paige. She was not impressed with my decision making, but oh well, I'm the mom...

The boys took a break from the rides to build with Lego's. I think they could have spent the entire day in this area!

Dave graciously stayed late at the fair with the girls and Ethan so they would have plenty of time to ride the rides. The boys, Martha, and I had been there for 6 hours and decided to call it a day. Another great year at the South Carolina State Fair!

BOO AT THE ZOO!

Tonight we went to Boo at the Zoo with our friends, the Ross'. Desmond said it was a preview of Halloween :) Everyone had a great time. Trick or treating, dancing, roasting marshmallows, and peeking at some sleeping animals.
