Riverbanks Zoo Field Trip
>> Monday, October 5, 2009
Last week Ethan and I had the opportunity to go to the zoo with all of the 5th graders from Round Top. We were assigned to a group of 5 boys for the day. The weather couldn't have been better and the kid's were all well behaved and lots of fun to spend the day with! It was a looong day... 7 hours long... we are now on a first name basis with some of the animals :)
ummm Matthew, I think there's a bird on your head!
Everyone loved feeding the lorikeets.
It took a lot of courage for Curtis to go in and feed the birds. At first he stood outside and just watched. Finally, he worked up the nerve to go in and try it.... but he wouldn't look! Too funny!
The boys had to answer questions throughout the day. They did a great job staying focused when they needed to be.
Working hard after lunch
We took the tram over to the gardens and let the kids roll down the hill and play in the ampitheater. (anything to kill some time!)
Ms. Rampey, one of Matthew's teachers, loves Ethan, and we love her! She pushed him in his stroller from the gardens all the way back to the zoo.
