Baby it’s cold outside. Therefore, it’s cold inside!
We're missing a lot of insulation and can’t get it back until the electrical and plumbing are done and pass inspection. I really think Columbia is competing for the coldest December on record…. of course!
Our builder was kind enough to bring over a propane construction heater. We have all learned to love a good propane heater!!
Dave and Ethan hung about 10 moving blankets from ceiling to floor to block the construction (uninsulated walls) from the rest of the house. It sure isn’t pretty, but it has helped so much with keeping the warmth in and the cold out. I’m pretty sure I won’t be choosing kelly green paint for the walls.
The kids discovered that they can roast marshmallows inside!
Even Brady has learned where the warm spot is!
What a mess… inside and out, but it’s progress! Prepping for the front porch.
They built a 52’ beam to put up for the front of the porch. It took 4 guys and a truck to get it up!
Matthew loves to climb so he climbed up onto the porch roof and over to the skylight (which is coming out soon!)
Another end of the house gets torn apart. This is Alyssa’s room. She will gain 6’ in length and 2’ in width and it will look much better from the outside.
We’re getting close, or at least closer. Electrical (started today), plumbing, HVAC, and insulation are next.
