Sally….

 

 Amazingly enough, Sally the hamster  is still with us.  Ethan takes her out every day and plays with her.  He loves it because he always gets to choose what they play.  Sometimes they play pirates and he makes her walk the plank on his pirate ship, other days she plays in the tree fort with him, she’s been a part of lego creations and raced around the race track as a hood ornament on a race car.   One day he and a friend put her in the oven in his kitchen center and said they were going to have hamster for dinner (no idea where that one came from!)  She’s even been “attacked” and eaten by his robot dinosaur…. poor Sally!

Unfortunately for Sally, Ethan is four and has the attention span of  a, well, of a four year old.  He’ll be on the floor playing with her and then he’ll see something shiny on the other side of the room and in an instant Sally is forgotten!!    Ethan goes one way and Sally the other…   This is when it gets interesting.  Not once, nope not even twice, but THREE times we’ve had to rescue Sally from Brady’s MOUTH!!!   He seems to know when she’s on the loose and he runs in and scoops her up.  What’s amazing is that he hasn’t once hurt her or left a mark on her.  She’s soaked with dog saliva by the time we get her out of his mouth, but other than that, nothing!   Amazing!!!  

Even after all of this abuse love, she is still so happy to see us.  As soon as we open  the door to her house, she comes running over to be pet or picked up. 

We really do love you Sally, we just have an odd way of showing it!
