DAY ONE.... GLOUCESTER

Because everyone begins their vacations at the cemetery. Oh, everyone doesn't? Well, we do! Lots of valuable information there! Dave was happy to find some headstones with info that he needed.
This headstone is my grandfathers and great grand parents.
It took us a while, but we did finally leave the cemetery and move on to some other interesting places in Gloucester.
The Fisherman's Monument or Old Man at the Wheel...
classic New England!
Nana and Papa
Gloucester Harbor
This is New England
Dad and I picked out fresh, HUGE lobsters to bring home for dinner!! Yummy!
Gloucester
We stopped at Charlie's Place for lunch. This was Nana Morris' favorite place to go.
New England Clam Chowder, can't beat it!
The view from Concord Street... the street that my mom grew up on
Mom's childhood house
Nana Morris' house
The bridge where my mom used to swim. There used to be diving board off of the bridge for the kids to jump in from. The river is controlled by the tide so they would have to wait for high tide.
The school house where my mom went for first grade.
Visiting with mom's cousin Nancy. Dave collected lots of genealogy information.
Matthew and Ethan loved the yard at Dan and Nancy's house
Dave spent the afternoon scanning pictures and info.
Mom's Aunt Jeanette and Uncle Bob - so much fun!!!
Nancy showing us a painting that my Nanie painted for her.
Cousins!
Great start to our Massachusetts vacation! Looking forward to the next two weeks!!
