Jekyll Island, GA

On our way home from Orlando we stopped to check out Jekyll Island in Georgia.   On the island we found The Georgia Sea Turtle Center - a sea turtle hospital!!  It was really neat to see.  We got to see them replace a bandage on one turtle and another one got shots and blood taken.  We walked through the "hospital" and got to see all of the turtles they were caring for.  The turtles were in pools and they all had notebooks that we could read and learn where they were from and what was wrong with them.  There were several from the south and even two from Massachusetts!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Jekyll Island was beautiful!  It has 7 miles of flat paved bike paths and amazing beaches, not to mention a turtle hospital!  We are looking forward to going back and exploring  for more than just a couple of hours.
